Being a royal you can pretty much take holidays anywhere you choose. When we begin taking into consideration the need/desire for privacy and presumably a penchant for luxury, the list becomes more refined. We’ve discovered one resort that numerous royals have included in their travel plans over the years and it’s on the Caribbean island of Grenada. The Five-Star Spice Island Beach Resort on the famed Grand Anse Beach is well known for being visited by members of the Royal Family, including the Earl and Countess of Wessex, Princess Anne, as well as the soon-to-be-wed Prince Harry. The all-suite resort boasts beautiful beachfront pools as well as 64 lavish rooms (some as large as 1,400 square feet with private plunge pools.) With no plans to expand the number of accommodations, Spice Island Beach Resort offers the ultimate privacy for guests looking for classic Caribbean hospitality and attention to personal detail. The level of attention to detail goes all the way down to the point of staff knowing everyone by name, and that includes us commoners. Known as the ‘spice isle’ of the Caribbean, Grenada offers a much more raw and authentic holiday option as opposed to the more popular, tourist-heavy Caribbean destinations. The small island just north of the Equator boasts rum distilleries, chocolate plantations, lush rainforests and exquisite coral reefs; not forgetting an amazing underwater sculpture park at the Molinère Marine Protected Area. I am thinking the next round of royal to stay here may just be adventurous enough to take the dive. You could be first!
