Mexico

Thompson Playa del Carmen debuts its bohemian-inspired Beach House. Perfectly positioned on the Caribbean shores, this boutique property will feel like your own private beach club. Situated on the beach, there is no escaping ocean views (not that you’d want to!) from your private balcony in one of the nine guest rooms or 18 suites. The Panoramic Suite is a sprawling 1,000 square feet with sea views through oor-to-ceiling windows on two sides– pretty obvious where the suite gets its name. Rinse all cares away in the glass-enclosed rain shower or on the private terrace in the inviting Aquaspa bathtub, then get wrapped up in the kimono-style bathrobe included for all guests. All this in retro-chic 1950s decor that combines rich Mexican patterns and textures with turquoise and sand tones.

A nice complement to the main hotel that opened last November, Beach House guests enjoy the accommodations of the main hotel, along with their own exclusive private cabanas, daybeds and sofas at their private pool and oceanfront lounge. Exclusive recreational activities for Beach House residents include complimentary bicycles to tour downtown or take a healthy ride along the beach. Grab a paddleboard for a little stand-up paddling, get refreshed on the beach with a frozen fruit skewer or ceviche cup, then relax with a soothing massage in your room/suite, cabana or private terrace.

The evening dining experience provides scenic views of the Caribbean Sea and downtown Playa del Carmen from the rooftop restaurant of the main hotel, CATCH, which features Mediterranean-inspired cuisine with strong Greek in uence. Selections include the fresh catch of the day, caught just offshore each morning by local shermen. There are even specialty workshops available for guests that include “make your own ceviche” or “home- made sangria.” The taste of Latin culture continues with Sangria and Ceviche Sunset Hour, and Full Moon Parties with live salsa and jazz. With Dessert Bon res, “Dive-in Movies,” dining, shopping, recreation, wellness – and just being on the Riviera Maya, there are ample diversions from sunrise to sunrise.

Nevis

Nevis honors an American founding father with a special package at Montpelier Plantation and Beach. Why the tribute? Alexander Hamilton was not only the rst U.S. Secretary of the Treasury he also had roots in Nevis – his birthplace, where he spent his early childhood in the capital city of Charlestown. Montpelier intends to share a bit of their renowned son’s story with guests this year.

In the United States, the award-winning Broadway musical, Hamilton, is a chronological account of his life. Rather than watch a reenactment of this legendary hero’s early life on stage, through this unique package visit the actual town and playgrounds that Alexander Hamilton called home in his childhood years. The former sugar plantation sets the ideal stage to transport travelers back in time.

With the Alexander Hamilton Package, sip complimentary rum punch while strolling through parts of the 60 acres on which the property is situated. Enjoy breakfast amongst the lush hills of Nevis before venturing out
to Charlestown. Close the day with a couple’s massage and the resort’s new signature “Brandy Alexander Hamilton” – a delightful concoction of local brandy, white rum, lemon, pineapple and passion fruit juices.

Time is of the essence to take advantage of
this memorable and history- lled package since this year’s annual closing of Montpelier is from August 12 to October 8. The Alexander Hamilton Package is available April 1 – December 20 (with the exception of annual closing dates). MontpelierNevis.com
